Peace of mind and improved strategy with less work

"For me, strategy is about defining a goal and mapping out the path to that goal. It's important to consider all the milestones along the way and to involve everyone in the company to get buy-in. No one likes decisions or changes to be made without them having the opportunity to be involved.

I had decided that we needed a good strategy process and was looking for a tool that would make it easy for us to use the results of the process in our future work.

We've had many strategy processes in the past where there hasn't been sufficient follow-up on the outcome afterwards or where it hasn't been addressed on a regular basis. My previous experience of making strategies is that in many cases there is something missing in the way of thinking and then the strategy becomes a bit inadequate.

I wanted to avoid that - I wanted to create a system that we could easily follow up and see that we were actually focusing on an approved strategy. There will always be changes to a strategy, partly due to changes in the market - I wanted to make sure we saw the changes early and could act on them. I don't want to end up like Kodak did back in the day. I never thought about the solution being Danish, but if I had, I think the Danes are really good at doing business.

Strategy can easily become complex, but MakeMyStrategy simplifies the process both during strategy development and especially after the strategy has been adopted/approved. Being a tool that makes it easy to change and improve the strategy means that there is significantly less work involved and the threshold for actively working with the strategy is lower. The tool also forces the user to go through a process so that all aspects are considered and weighed in the strategy - it becomes like a good checklist.

I am very satisfied. With MakeMyStrategy , we achieve a good and systematic mapping of the entire organization. This is also why we have divided the strategy into several sub-strategies, where each department maps its area and prioritizes the most important actions in each department. In 90 percent of cases, these actions will support the main strategy. If you only look at the main strategy, it can often be perceived as too general and not so easy to anchor in the company - or measure the different actions down to the right level.

Three things I would like to highlight are:

1. You are forced through an extensive process before you get to the action plan and critical success areas ("Must Win Battles") - this ensures a good mapping and process.

2. You get a great document that is easy to follow up on in the future.

3. A good overview of metrics, responsibilities etc. in the strategy helps to reduce resource consumption during development.

It gives me peace of mind that the strategy provides good and correct answers on where the company should go and how to get there. And MakeMyStrategy supports me in my dream of further developing the company with solid figures and motivated and satisfied employees.

I can definitely recommend MakeMyStrategy to other companies with the same wishes and dreams."

Biovac Environmental Technology AS

The first Biovac® mini wastewater systems were launched back in 1982. Norwegian Leif Rönsen had been traveling in the USA in the late 1970s and brought back ideas for wastewater treatment. From these ideas, Leif developed the first Biovac® mini wastewater treatment system.

Since then, the products have been developed and the treatment process has become even cleaner. However, the development and manufacturing of Biovac® wastewater systems still takes place in the Nordic region, specifically in Norway, just outside Oslo.

In other words, Biovac® mini-purification systems are not only adapted to Nordic conditions, they are built for it. There are no loose or electrical components in the chambers; the pumps are driven by air, for example. The design provides a reliable and stable plant that is built for a long lifetime. Several treatment plants from 1982 are still in operation today.

Biovac Environmental Technology AS delivers water and wastewater solutions to municipalities, cottage and housing estates and individual houses. We are one of the largest players in the market. The technology we use is based on a natural and biochemical treatment process. We plan, design, design, rehabilitate, build and service what we deliver. With Biovac, you get a long-term solution and an experienced partner.
